The Springfield Travel Club is a very active club within Springfield. It
organizes and conducts trips and other activities for its members. All
residents are eligible to join. All trips are offered on an at-cost
basis and the club negotiates for group discounts and packages whenever
possible.
The Travel Club offers opportunities to its members to take day trips to a
variety of places in and around the greater Sacramento and San
Francisco Bay Area, visiting wineries, theaters, attractions,
restaurants, sporting events and other interesting venues.

Over-night or 3-5 night regional trips are also offered. Recent trips included
the snow train to Reno, a concert at Bear Valley, and tours of
historical sites around northern California.

The club also conducts international trips. Recent trips were made to
Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji; Spain and Portugal; and a Christmas
Market River Cruise in Germany. Other trips include The Great Rivers of
Europe Cruise and a Greek Islands
cruise.
The club has a Council made up of 12 club members. They often do the trip
research and planning although any club member may plan a trip for the
club. The Council members do not receive any compensation for their
work, and council members pay the same price for the trip as any other
club member.
